Our team is built on individuals with various backgrounds in the criminal justice field.
JB supports the Advancing Pretrial Policy and Research initiative as the Operations Assistant. Previously, they worked as a Public Policy Assistant with the National Alliance on Mental Illness in New Hampshire (NAMI NH). While there, JB engaged directly with the New Hampshire legislature in an effort to pass legislation to improve mental healthcare in the state. They were also actively involved in NAMI NH’s First Episode Psychosis/Early Serious Mental Illness initiative, mainly supporting the 603 Stories program, where people could share their mental health stories to promote access to help, connections, and hope. JB also supported the Connect Suicide Prevention and Response program, a training curriculum developed and operated by NAMI NH. JB’s background is in public policy, community organizing, and activism. They have a strong interest in justice reform, particularly transformative and restorative justice. JB earned their BS in Political Communication, with minors in Post-Colonial Studies and Psychology, from Emerson College.
