CEPP’s Decades-Long Partnership with the National Institute of Corrections

The National Institute of Corrections (NIC) is a federal agency that provides leadership and practical assistance to federal, state, and local corrections agencies. Through a number of cooperative agreements and over several decades, the Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP) has partnered with NIC on various training, technical assistance, and planning projects.

In partnership with NIC, CEPP has led projects that: 

• promote evidence-based decision making,
• support people’s successful transition from prison to the community,
• provide invaluable training and technical assistance for probation and parole agencies, and
• advance gender-responsive policies and practices.

Our work has been carried out in jurisdictions across the country and shared widely on the NIC website to support the field at the national level.
